Chapter History

     The Delta Psi chapter of Alpha Xi Delta represents a proud and well-established legacy of women at Texas State University. Our presence was first established at SWT in 1923 as an organization called "The Philosophians." In 1957, our dear Philosophians became a local sorority bearing the Greek letters "Phi Delta Gamma." As one of the very first Greek organizations at SWT to seek National affiliation, Delta Psi was colonized in 1965 as the 118th chapter of Alpha Xi Delta; a pioneer at SWT for Greek organizations seen on Texas State's campus today.

 

 

 

Campus Involvement

     Campus involvement is very important to ladies of Alpha Xi Delta. Each sister participates in at least one extra organization or activity on campus. Alpha Xi Deltas are represented in Associated Student Government, Residence Hall Governments, Texas State Teachers Association, Texas State Strutters, Order of Omega, SIFE and many other diverse campus organizations. Alpha Xi Delta members support their sisters in other activities outside of the sorority by attending performances and other events sponsored by organizations our sisters are members of.

 

     We love going to other campus activities like Texas State Football, Basketball, and Baseball games that let us spend more time with each other. Alpha Xi's also look forward to other philanthropy events from other Greek organizations and Greek sponsored events such as Greek Speaker, Greek God and Goddess, and Greek Week! 

 

 

 

Academic Achievement

     Here at the Texas State chapter of Alpha Xi Delta, we make it a point to continuously improve upon our academics. As sisters, we help one another out, whether it is with studying in groups for classes we all have together, or quizzing a sister for a test she has. We share study tips, set up studying tables in the library and award/recognize those who put in the extra effort and exceed our academic expectations.
